The conference is over now and we want to thank all participants and people who helped us to make the CGI '98 possible. With around 120 contributions and more than 200 registered participants the conference was more than successful. With respect to the number of contributions the CGI'98 has been the largest scientific conference in the area of computer graphics that took place in germany so far.

Welcome to the CGI '98 and welcome to Hannover. The Division of Computer Graphics of the Institute of Computer Science is proud to be the 16th organizer of the truly international conference on computer graphics. Previous conferences were held in the UK (1995), Korea (1996), and Belgium (1997).
Organized by CGS and the University of Hannover, under the auspices of the Minister President of Lower Saxony. In cooperation with the Gesellschaft für Informatik, Eurographics and IFIP.
